The Engagement Letter
The engagement letter establishes the professional scope before examination begins. It records the Section 34AB Category VIII registration reference, statutory context, deliverable format, professional fee and agreed turnaround.
Scope, statutory purpose, fee and turnaround are defined before the valuation work proceeds.
The Physical Examination
The painting is examined in its physical setting using the agreed scope of technical examination. The process may include visual examination under natural light, UV fluorescence, raking light, IR reflectography, XRF pigment analysis and detailed analysis of the canvas, support and signature.
Comparable Evidence Research
Auction record research is conducted across international and domestic sources. The analysis applies artist-period-medium triangulation, identifies relevant comparables, calculates the median value and documents the evidence used in the valuation conclusion.
ISO 9001:2000 Peer Review
The certificate is personally peer-reviewed by Nitesh Shrivastava. The review checks the statutory framing, comparable evidence, condition assessment and, where applicable, AATA status determination before the final signed signoff.
Post-Engagement Support
The engagement can continue beyond certificate delivery where the original valuation purpose requires clarification or supporting assistance. This includes AO scrutiny support, auction consignment support, museum accession support and insurance underwriter support.
